36 Recols for Skell’s Improved Scrubs with Accessory Insets

Title, of course, from here.

Background: I’m writing a story, that isn’t Star Trek-based for once, where most of the characters including my two main characters are doctors and I needed some nice scrubs for them. (The Sims in the title pic are all story Sims, BTW.) I’m not super keen on the (hidden) scrubs in game, so I was very happy to stumble upon Skell’s improved scrubs project (where Skell made new scrubs based on the BV masseuse uniform). There are some nice recols for it out there already, but as always I wanted my own. I was just going to make a few… but if you know me at all, you know that I never, ever stop at “just a few.” 😅

In the end, I clocked out at 36 recols. But that’s not all. When looking around I’ve seen several recols of the in-game scrubs with added sleeves and/or an inset for the collar. I liked this idea, but I wanted my Sim doctors to have more colour variety and combination options than I could get with only scrubs recols (not unless I wanted to make a heckuva lot more than 36). So I made accessories instead. But more on that in a bit.

First, the recols. The first 14 colours are for YAEFM; I didn’t like the elder meshes so I’ve used the adult meshes for all. They are categorised as Everyday only.

As always, click on the pictures for larger versions.

Then we have seven bright recols in Eversim’s “Ever So Lovely” palette and one in (LACK) white, that are for teens in addition to adults and elders. (In the title pic, Mattie, the anxious-looking red-haired Sim in the front and to the left, is a teen. She’s an adult in my story, an F1 (intern) in my fictional London hospital, but I aged her down to med student for the screenshot.) The teen recols are texture-referenced to the adult ones, TF to AF and TM to AM.

These recols only come with a coloured top and white bottoms, I thought they looked a bit pyjamas-y otherwise.

(I’ve since fixed the bottoms on the yellow recol so they’re the same white colour
as the others, but I was too lazy to redo the screenshots. 🙃)

And then we have the accessories! As you can see in the title pic they come in two flavours: collar inset only or inset and sleeves (but I’ll refer to both types as just insets from now on). They’re for YAE (so not teens), can be worn with other accessories and like the scrubs, they are for Everyday only.
They look like so up close (click for larger):

These don’t come in the same colours as the scrubs (because that would be a bit too colour coordinated even for me), but in Anna’s 30 colours. Have a swatch:

Unfortunately, since accessories don’t morph with the Sim’s body and the female fat morph is much bustier than the fit morph, for female (but not male) Sims the insets have two variations: fit and fat, with the “fat” accessories texture-referenced to the fit ones. You’ll have to select the correct one for your Sim yourself. 🙁

In Bodyshop, all you see is bald heads (and trust me, if there was anything I could do about it, I would), so there you’ll have rely on the tooltips and/or putting the accessory on your Sim to see what you’ve got, but in CAS the insets have custom icons:

Thirty colours in two variations + an extra set for AF = a lot of accessories that takes up a lot of space in Bodyshop and CAS. So to save your sanity (and mine), I’ve also made accessory box versions.

UPDATE 29 MAY 2025: I’ve also added another version below, with the insets as BV jewellery instead of as accessories. The inset-only accessories are categorised as necklaces, the insets with sleeves for AM and fit AF as right bracelets, and the insets with sleeves for fat AF as left bracelets (this to make the AF section a little less cluttered).

Credits and Thanks…

…to Skell for the improved meshes and also the base textures that I just had to run some colour actions over and they were good to go. 👍

…and to Pick’N’Mix Mods for the Outfit Organiser, that made recategorising the accessories as jewellery a breeze.
