I know most people only come here for Sims stuff and don’t want to hear anything about the real world outside the Sims (and that some people think creators shouldn’t be allowed to even think about anything not strictly Sims related 😡 ), but right now I can’t just ignore the fact that there is a world outside the Sims, and it’s very, very real – and if that means I lose downloaders, then so be it. So:

PSA: Anon Comments Temporarily Off

Exactly as it says on the tin, I’ve temporarily turned off anonymous commenting; I’ve suddenly been invaded by an armada of spam bots, and Aksimet (WordPress’s spam protection system) hasn’t picked up on it so far. 😡

Since I’ve got better things to do with my time than marking a bazillion comments as spam, I’ve turned anon commenting off temporarily (you can still comment, it’s just that you’ll have to sign your name and email). I’ll turn it back on again as soon as the spam bots see something shiny and move on or Aksimet wakes up from its nap, whichever comes first.

Sorry about the inconvenience!

I did a thing.

“Whaaa?” I hear you say. “Are you going to stop simming?” Absolutely not! I have no such plans whatsoever (and I’ve a bunch of projects I’m working on behind the scenes, so to speak, and a couple of them are very close to release). It’s just that for quite some time now, I’ve felt that I wanted a place where I can… you know, talk about stuff? Personal, life stuff, not Sim stuff. I don’t want to do this here, though, since I know you’re here for Sims stuff and not to listen to me whining, but I also don’t feel comfortable doing it on Tumblr because… don’t even get me started. Also, I like WordPress. So, personal blog it is.

Other than this post, though, I won’t be advertising it here. I’ve added a little navigation widget to the right (below “Latest Comments”) where I’ll link to the latest post over there, but that’s all. I won’t shout it out every time I’ve posted something new over there, so if you want to ignore it and just focus on the Sim stuff, you should be able to do so without much effort.

I do, of course, hope I’ll see you over there as well – but no hard feelings whatsoever if I don’t! You’ll still be my favourite downloaders. ❤

Happy New Year, all my dear visitors, downloaders and commenters! Thanks for sticking with me this year, even though I haven’t been particularly active when it comes to simming. :/

I definitely hadn’t planned for my hiatus to last this long, but 2023 has been… all kinds of things. 🙄 Some have been good – like moving to a new, bigger apartment – but some have been bad, like new health problems (that actually had me in hospital for a short time earlier this autumn). I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with this past year, really – so I think I’ll just leave it here and move on to the next one. 😛

Here’s to hoping 2024 will be a great one, filled with Sims and other things that make life good!

Technically, I guess I’ve been on hiatus for a while now – or at least I haven’t been doing much simming for a while – but I thought I’d best make a public announcement about it so people don’t get worried about me or think I’ve left the community or anything like that.

Counter Productive: “Counter Culture” Add-ons

It feels a bit odd to be posting Sim stuff as if all is well in the world when it really isn’t, but these have been finished for quite some time and I really wanted to get them out.

This is my fourth counter completer set (the previous ones can be found here, here and here) – and there’s more to come, too. It wasn’t the plan, but what’s a creator to do when she’s got great downloaders who make great requests? ❤

And before someone from MTS goes "but MaryLou and Numenor!" – yes, I know they made add-ons for the “Counter Culture” counters several years ago, but I wanted them made in my style and with my counter variations. (Also, M&N made theirs in 2006. I know that some people at MTS think that no two creators can ever make similar items ever, but to say that nobody is allowed to touch a Maxis item because someone made add-ons sixteen years ago… honestly, I think that’s a bit over the top even for MTS. But that’s me.)

So have a set with “Counter Culture” completers! 😈

“Shapes in Space” Lamps

First post of 2022. To quote Forrest Gump, that’s all I have to say about that. 😛

Anyway. A while back, when I was playing the game for once and not just play testing stuff, I came across the PETS “Shapes in Space” sculpture (that I’d quite forgotten existed)… and was a little disappointed it wasn’t a floor lamp. I thought it would have made a perfect lamp for space-minded Sims like the Curious brothers, so… I made it a floor lamp. (I made a floor lamp that looked like the sculpture, I mean. I didn’t turn the actual sculpture into a floor lamp.) And then I made a bigger one, because options. And also two table lamps, so you can have lamps that match.

I give you Lamps… in… Space! (And yes, you’re supposed to read that in a “Pigs in Space” voice 😉 ).

Completers Anonymous: “Chez Moi” Add-ons

I wasn’t going to make any more counters. I mean, I’d already made two completer sets (found here and here) and that’s enough counters to last you a lifetime. So no more counters for me. Nope. Never.

But then this nice Tumblr anon asked me if I had any plans to make completers for the BG Chez Moi counter? Anon really liked this counter, you see, and they also liked my other counter completers (insert warm fuzzy feeling here), so they thought they might as well ask.

I wasn’t going to make any more counters. Really. I wasn’t. But the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. The Chez Moi is one of my favourite counters, and anon was being nice about it – and nice will go a very long way with me (especially on Tumblr). So… well… I made some more counters. 😳

Autumn Cardigans

These have been sitting in my WIP folder for quite some time. I’ve been dithering about uploading them since I know this top has been recoloured to death already – but then I thought, bugrit. I like how these turned out, and it’s my blog, so there! 😛 If you don’t like them, well, then you don’t have to download. It’s as simple as that.

So, here you have the BG sweater set in Aelia’s Autumn. It’s not just one of my favourite palettes, it’s also a very fitting one in my northern corner of the world. 🙂

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

I’ve made a couple of changes, one concerning my policy and once concerning comments, and I decided they were big/important enough to warrant an announcement. (It isn’t anywhere near as ominous as it sounds, I promise!)

Firstly, I’ve changed my policy to allow my custom content to be converted for The Sims 3 – as in, not just for your own game (like it was before), but also to upload and to share with others. Knock yourselves out, TS3 creators!

(I still don’t want my items to be converted for The Sims 4, though – even if you create for both games – and that’s unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. Sorry.)

Secondly, about commenting. You no longer have to fill out name and email to leave a comment, but can comment anonymously! The fields for name and email are still there in case you do want to fill them out, but now it’s fine to leave them blank. 😀

I’ll admit it’s a bit of an experiment. If I get flooded with spam comments, or if people do like on Tumblr and think that anon equals a free pass to be an arsehole, we’ll go back to the name-and-email route. (I’ll tell you right now that my pain threshold for arseholery is going to be low; I’m not going to waste as much as one of those flimsy little plastic spoons on that kind of crap.) But for now, the bar is open, so to speak.

See? I told you it sounded more ominous than it actually was. 🙂

Sleepwear for Momma Lisa

No, I don’t usually convert things for Momma Lisa, but this sort of just happened. 🙂

Backstory: I’ve actually been playing the game lately, not just making things for it, and I felt my (modern, MM) ‘hood was in dire need of some nice Momma Lisas because enough with the Maxis stick figures already. So I went to Moni Lisa Sims and downloaded just about everything. (If you play with bodyshapes and haven’t visited her Tumblr already, you need to do so right now – she’s got lots of great clothing for Momma Lisa, and also some for Melodie9’s Fat Male.) But then, when I was in Bodyshop to play with all my pretty new ML clothes, I came across this 3t2 nightshirt by Rented-Space, that I’d thought would look great on the Momma Lisa bodyshape… so I converted it. Then I thought I’d really like the Maxis BG slip for ML as well, only I was too lazy to go searching for it (even though I’m sure someone must have converted it already)… so I converted that one, too, and made some recols as well since I’d picked up steam.

So I give you Rented-Space’s 3t2 Luxe Nighty Nightshirt and the BG afBodySlip converted for Momma Lisa. Right now, they’re both for YAEF (though I might convert them for teens later).

Million Miles from Home: Two Alien Sims

So this happened. I was playing around with custom sliders and face templates in Bodyshop and decided to make an alien… and thought he turned out darned cute. 🙂 Then I switched the gender, just to see how it looked – and thought the female version was darned cute, too. At first I wasn’t going to upload them since I just made them for fun – but then I thought, “why not?” And then, with impeccable timing, Oce released his bodyshape conversions of MDP’s 4t2 sci-fi outfit, and that kind of clinched it.

So, without further ado I give you Alnitak and Bellatrix. 😀
