The Earthforce flight wings (above) denote that the officer is a qualified pilot and the extent of their qualification. They are worn on the right upper arm.
 

The division badge denotes the wearer’s speciality and is worn on the left upper arm.

The hand link, used for short-range communication, is usually worn on the left hand for right-handed officers and on the right hand for left-handed officers like Sheridan and Garibaldi (and me. If I were in Earth Force, that is 😉 ).
