In TSM, you have this charming little rocking horse – but even though it’s in the children’s category it’s purely decorative, so all your little Sims can do with it is to look at it. Now, this might be fun for scholarly Sims, but not so much for everybody else. So, in appreciation of Toddler Month, I converted it – and made it functional. 😀 Now your littlest Sims can use this rocking horse as it’s supposed to be used – and they won’t just have fun while doing it, they’ll build body skill as well!
This rocking horse requires AL. I tried to see if I could dumb it down, so to speak, and make it so that it would only require [some EP] or above, but it really didn’t like that. So AL it is.
In addition to to the original TSM colour, it comes in five of Pooklet’s naturals. Yes, only five – nineteen seemed like overkill for this one. 😛
Even though only toddlers can actually ride on it, other Sims can still join in the fun. When a toddler is on it, other Sims aged children and up has the option to watch the playing little Simlet and cheer him/her on, which will increase the watcher’s fun (because we all know how contagious toddler happiness can be). Any number of Sims can watch, there’s no limit – other than the size of the room, anyway. 😉

As you can see above, the horse’s body and the handles/rockers can be recoloured independently, but note that if you delete a recolour, you delete it for both subsets.

You know that I am a sucker for Toddler things. No Toddlers in TS4 was a terrible shock. Thanks for sharing your animated rocking horse.

But at least we’ll still have our TS2 tots. They can’t take that from us!

And yeah. Oh, I know they have all kinds of excuses/explanations (“but you’ll have all of these cool walk styles!”), but to me that still doesn’t make up for there being no toddlers in TS4. 😡 (Or no toddlers in the base game, anyway; wanna bet we’ll get them in an EP, for which they’ll of course charge just as much if not more because “it has a whole new life stage!”? 😛 )
Huh– that looks just like the horse from the set of playable toys I made. Guess I know where the mesh came from now!
*runs to check* You’re right, it is the same horse, your mesh just doesn’t have the rockers (which makes sense – it was deco at first, right?). Popular little fella. 🙂

Just wanted to stop and give you a huge THANK YOU for all the items you’ve created and posted for us to download! I recently started playing the sims 2 again, mostly because of the The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. I’ve been looking around to see what new CC has come out for download since I stop playing it back in 2009.
