Before we start, I must apologise for being so bad at answering comments. I love getting comments and I read and appreciate each and every one, never ever think that I don’t. But I haven’t had the best spoon supply lately, and intelligible (or at least somewhat coherent) communication… some days, it takes a lot of spoons. And I just haven’t had those spoons to spare. Very sorry about that. π¦ But things are looking better now, and I’ll try to catch up post-haste!
But you’re not here to hear me whine about spoons, you’re here for Sim stuff. So let’s do Sim stuff! My last post was something of a teaser. Now I’m not teasing any more. π Consider this the first official post for “Project Heavy”!
“Project Heavy” is what I call my Big Bodyshop Project of 2021: converting as much medieval clothing as I possibly can (spoons allowing) for Consort’s heavy male. Because chunky Sims need clothes, too – and proper clothes, thank you very much, not just some skimpy (and skinny) fat morphs that are neither chunky nor shapely enough for a truly heavy Sim. So I’m going to get them some proper clothes (and hopefully inspire others to join the cause as well).
My plan is to convert clothing of all categories as well as some showerproof skintones, so your nice, chunky Sim gents can look nice and chunky all the time, all the way. Iβm selfishly going to start with some of my favourite outfits (I can tell you right now that Almighty Hatβs stuff will be heavily featured, as well as some of the great TSM conversions by VampireKiss666), but when we get a bit further down the line Iβll be taking requests, too. Just to give you a heads-up. π
So let’s get this party started!
I love Aligethβs Robin Hood tunic and I love Oph3liaβs bracer-less edit of it edit even more, and I’ve known ever since I first thought of this project that I wanted to convert it for heavy males. All those pretty folds made it a little challenging, but Iβm still happy with how it turned out.
Iβve converted my favourite recols, by Lothere, Andavri, and Almighty Hat (but I’m absolutely open to suggestions if there are others you’d like to see as well!). All in all thatβs more than 100 recols (mostly because of Hat), so hopefully your heavy Sim gents will be able to find something thatβs to their liking.
A couple of things before we start. First and foremost, all outfits are texture-referenced to the original ones. This because I think/assume medieval players will have most of the originals in their games already and donβt want to bloat your Downloads folders more than necessary. Of course, it also means that for my converted outfits to appear correctly, you need to have the corresponding original in game lest your heavy Sims will show up wearing their birth suits (sort of). I can easily think of a number settings where this might not be appropriate. π
Second, everything comes in two versions, tooltipped and mfBSOKβd β choose one. The mfBSOKβd outfits are (mostly) sorted by colour according to these charts @ PBK (or as close to them I could get for colours not included).
All outfits are for YAEM and the mesh has fat and preg morphs.
And with that out of the way β on to the conversions!
We’ll start with the Lothere’s 14 recolours. The plain ones, I’ve categorised as everyday, athletic and outerwear, but not as formal. The formal, gold-embroidered ones on the other hand, I’ve categorised as everyday, formal and outerwear, but not as athletic. (I thought the plain ones not quite fancy enough for formal wear, but the formal ones a little too fancy for athletic wear.) King Richard in the title pic is wearing the formal red & green one.
To give you an idea of the overall shape:

Next, we have Andavri’s eight “Beautiful as Me” recols. They’re all categorised as everyday, formal and outerwear. (Guilty confession: I cheated with the mfBSOK’ing here, and sorted them all as Merchant rather than by colour. π³ ) Lord Jonathan is wearing Fox in the title pic.
And then we have Almighty Hat’s Du Lac tunics. Since Hat is even more insane than I am π she made “a whole slew” of recolours – no less than 82 of them, in Aelia’s Autumn, Pooklet’s Naturals and CuriousB’s Any Colour You Like (ACYL). And your heavy Sim gents are getting all of them. π (These, I did mfBSOK by colour – yes, all 82 – so hopefully you can give me a pass for cheating with the Andavri ones. π )
I’m not giving you screenshots of all 82 recolours because that would break my brain and it’s got black holes in it already (no, I’m not kidding, even though it’s a medical term in my case rather than an astronomical one), so instead I’m going to give you the great swatches Hat provided for her uploads – thank you, Hat! β€ – so you know what colour combos you're getting. All outfits are categorised as everyday, formal, athletic and outerwear.
First, we have Aelia's Autumn colours. (In the title pic, Robin Hood is wearing Olive, no. 11.)
Then we have Pooklet’s Naturals:
And finally, CuriousB’s ACYL:
That should be enough to keep your heavy Sims going for a while, don’t you think? Next stop: underwear!
About File Names
Consort called this bodyshape Heavy Male (and that’s the name I’ll use when talking about it), but in the original BSOK itβs called Consortβs Fat Male (CF) β which means it’s called Consortβs Fat Male/CF in the mfBSOK, too. So my conversions will be labelled “CF” as well. Iβll always keep the original file names and they usually have an “am” in there somewhere, so when youβre browsing your Downloads folder it’ll hopefully be clear that these are outfits for adult males and not female children. π
Credits and Thanks
Consort for the heavy male bodyshape
Aligeth for the original Robin Hood tunic
Oph3lia for the edit to Aligeth’s tunic
Lothere, Andavri and Almighty Hat for the original recolours
Norica for the mfBSOK and for adding this bodyshape to it
and Lifa for telling me how to make WSOs
These are sooo amazing! So many colors. I’m a huge fan of the original outfit; all my minstrels wear it, and this is a great addition for that one minstrel who lags behind the rest of the troupe strumming idly on his lute.
Thankee muchly. π Glad you like them! The original outfit is one of my all-time favourites, there’s at least one Sim (often more) wearing it in every. single. one. of my medieval households. And yeah, this is definitely for that lagging minstrel, who then hitches a lift with a passing hay cart and waves cheerfully at his mates as he leaves them behind in the dust. π
Beautiful work, as always. I’ve never played with body shapes, as much as I’ve wanted to, because the custom skins available just don’t work with my beloved default and geneticised skins (Pyxis’ Venice skinblends) and thus far properly inheritable skins have been more important to me, but I can’t wait to see your showerproof skins!
Thank you. β€ I must admit I was quite late to the bodyshape party myself, but now I use them all over my medieval 'hood (not so much in my "normal" (if there is such a thing π ) and Star Trek 'hoods, even if I'm thinking of doing some conversions of my Starfleet uniforms – I'm working on a major updates for those anyway). For some reason, geneticised skins have never been that important to me, I use a glorious mess of non-gen, gen and gen + townified skintones in my games, so bodyshaped parents not passing on their skintones to their children doesn't really bother me. To each their own. π
Pyxis Venice, you say? *makes a casual note*
I absolutely love Consort bodyshape. It’s the only chubby one I use for my males. I love your conversions tooπππThank you so much for making them. Would you consider making some modern consort outfits? He doesn’t have any outwear. No one is making anything for this shape and I can retexture and recolour but I can’t meshππππ
Hi there! π Glad you like my conversions! I love this bodyshape, too, I don’t understand why it isn’t more popular. Our games need chubby Sims!
I’ve seen your Consort recols over at Tumblr, they’re great! π And I can absolutely convert some modern outfits, too, once I’ve got a bit further with the medieval ones. We can’t have our chubby Sim guys go out in the cold without proper outerwear, now can we?
Are there any particular outfits you’d like to see? Or just the Maxis ones?
Hey, Nix, would you be willing to share that .wso? I’m in a converting kind of mood.
HI! I’m absolutely willing to share the .wso! π I actually thought about uploading it before, but I honestly wasn’t sure if anybody but me would be interested. I’m thrilled to hear that you are, IMHO this bodyshape needs more love.
I’ve uploaded it here. And I’d love it if you’d shoot me a link to your conversions when they’re done (if you want to, of course), my heavy Sims always and desperately need more clothes. π
Your wish is my command. π

I know you’ve mostly been focusing on royal/noble sims with Project Heavy, and I don’t wanna step on your toes, so I decided to go for some stuff that probably wasn’t in your immediate project pool. Hope you enjoy anyway!
That was quick! Thanks! And your conversions turned out great – I foresee an influx of heavyset pirates and blacksmiths in my medieval ‘hood in the immediate future. π
And that’s very considerate of you, I really appreciate that. π Know what, I’ll tell you what I’m currently working on, so you know… well, what I’m working on. π Apologies in advance for the wall of text.
First of all, underwear – I’ve converted all (I think) of Hat’s hosen and also the linen braises; I’m currently in the process of mfBSOK’ing them, so hopefully it won’t be too long before they’re up. I was thinking of doing Andavri’s Superman Is Dead, too, for the sake of variation (and also because I like them), but after doing 80+ of Hat’s I was a bit fed up with hosen, so I decided not to do Andavri’s, not in this round at least. (So if you feel like doing underwear… π I cheated with the mesh here, BTW, and used Consort’s original underwear mesh – making my own when he already had one seemed a bit redundant, especially since I made my .wso from Consort’s mesh.)
I’ve also made meshes for Aligeth/Oph3lia’s Friar Tuck tunic (with and w/o poulaines) and Aligeth’s doublet and hose, and am working on the mesh for VK’s TSM king cape sword. But those are the only projects I’ve actually started on; other than that, I do have a project list, but it’s just a list, nothing more. I haven’t started making anything else. So if there are outfits you want to convert, by all means convert them! And if they happen to be something I’d been thinking of converting as well – great, then I won’t have to do them and I can cross them off my list. π
Hoping to see many more great conversions from you! I’m thrilled to see someone else converting for this bodyshape.
… So I got my desktop back up and running after several months of Minimal Spoons/stars not in position can’t do it not today stars, I don’t even have my game installed yet, just pulled most of my files off the passport drive, and I’ve been on a bit of a ‘what did I miss?’ downloading spree and…
WOW okay I missed THIS hello fat men hello! I have been wanting fat men since Cynnix came out with RGv2. (I can’t wait to see how they look with RGv2. Do you think he’s a better brother to her, or to Momma Lisa?) This is very exciting and I was honestly going to keep lurking until I had everything back up and running smoothly again, but this. This, I gotta comment on.
… This legit looks better on Heavy Male than it does on Maxis Male.
Hat! HAT!!
Please excuse me for a moment while I jump up and down and flail my arms like a crazy fangirl…
…
…okay, done. π But seriously, Hat! How great to have you here! π (Also great to hear you got your computer back up!) And yeah, my medieval game needed (and still needs) some fat men so badly, I can’t even begin to tell you how badly it needed some fat men – nice-and-chunky-all-over fat, thank you very much, not just Maxis-fat-morph-with-barely-a-belly-on-it sized. So this happened. I’m thrilled you like them! There’s more coming, and (hopefully) soon.
Funny you should ask about RGv2/Momma Lisa. I’ll be doing skintones, too – have already converted a bunch of my favourites, in fact – and for them, I’ve paired him with Momma Lisa. (It just seemed silly to have a Maxis stick figure on the female side, it didn’t at all fit with his nice chunkiness. That, and my game at least could do with some more skintones for Momma Lisa, she doesn’t have nearly enough IMHO.) So I’m definitely partial towards her. But I think RGv2 is at least a cousin. π
So… when you get your game installed again, are there any outfits that you think “hey, those would look great for Heavy Male!”? ‘Cause, you know, that can be done. π (I do have a to-do list for this project, but it’s nowhere near capacity. So I’m very much open to suggestions.)
It’s so good to see you again! π
I’m here! Very quietly because I am nowhere near back to capacity (still trying to find all the little things I need to reinstall, not just for Sims but for basic functionality on a Vista machine. How was I making videos run in tumblr again, I don’t know anymore), but I am here! But tonight I start my reinstall, I think. Not sure if I’m starting with SC4 or TS2, but tonight.
Momma Lisa is also good! What are you doing for the other ages? (RGv2 has a kid that might work as a base, if that’s of any use.) But yeah, skintones are why I mostly only have some bodyshape clothes at this point– often times the skintones get paired off by arbitrary attractiveness rather than similar body types. I have been on the lookout for a brother for the RenGal for years.
What do fat men need in the Middle ages… *prods my own clothing tag* … Underwear. Any and all underwear I’ve made, if someone who isn’t me wants to convert it, good. It’s so necessary but I’m so tired of looking at it. Undies and nightclothes and true nudes. … Actually. Actually, should I put together, like, a mesh kit? Basic Medieval Wardrobe for Bodyshape Conversions? I gotta reassemble my Downloads folder anyway. (The easy answer is ‘anything I’ve made so far,’ from braises to plantsim tunics, but. Would a kit be more helpful?)
I hope this lines up right, it’s been a while since I’ve left comments on WordPress.
Yay for getting back in the game (literally and figuratively)! π
And all (or at least a lot of) underwear you’ve made is actually what’s coming up next; they’re just about ready for upload, I just need to come up with a half-decent title pic and they’re good to go. I’m planning on doing nightclothes after that, and then skintones (with some everyday stuff wedged in here and there). And then… I’ll do more of everything. π (One thing that’s very high up on my list is Tig’s alpha tunic; if that isn’t the most recoloured AM mesh, I don’t know what is.)
And everything you’ve made so far is more or less on my to-do list already, yes. π I won’t be doing supernatural stuff right now (mostly because I never play supernatural myself, so I’m not feeling all that excited about it). Also won’t be doing separates in the first round, I’m going to focus on full-body outfits first – but I’ll most definitely be doing separates later on. Fat men need to mix and match, too. *nods*
Also not doing anything for other ages right now – I want to make sure YAEM has a base wardrobe first. But then I’ll be doing at least teens (thanks for the tip about the RGv2 kid!). Basically, the plan is to make heavy outfits for the same age groups as the original is for. But that’s quite a bit further down the line. (Of course, if anybody should say “if you’ll convert the mesh for [this child outfit], I’ll recolour it”, I certainly won’t say no. π Or wants to recolour any meshes I’ve already put out, once I get some more out – the more people who want to make clothes for this poor, neglected bodyshape, the better!)
A mesh kit would actually be awesome! My to-do list is all over the place (and drawing v. heavily on what I’ve got in my own Downloads folder), so a starting kit with Heavy Must-Have Meshes would be really helpful for structuring things. π
(And your reply lined up exactly the way it should. β )
It took some doing to get it how I want it, I tell you what! I still don’t have my “Play” folder back up and running (two EA Games folders, Play and Create, so Body Shop doesn’t have to load Buy Mode), but I did get the Separates4All mod working, and that is going to be so much fun.
Oh that sounds like a great spread! And just about exactly what I’d look for in a… wardrobe-building-blocks collection? Nudes, braises, chausses, shirt, nightgown, Robin Hood Tunics, I’d say FR’s separates but if you’re waiting on those, then a more tailored full-body outfit, Tig’s alpha tunic, and a cloak mesh or two and you have enough variation to actually start playing that bodyshape from underwear to outerwear! (Seriously I just finished packing the mesh kit, it’s uploading now, and that’s… what I’d put as top priority. Similar for women, just swap Robin Hood for Liz13’s alpha dress and FR’s separates for those Cynnix and Oph3lia meshes I use.)
Alas, I shall have to wait for fat wizards in official robes and portly plantsims! *dramatic pose, wrist to forehead* No but I do get that, not everybody loves the alternate life states as much as I do. I don’t even use the designated clothes all the time, even. I just like having them if I want them.
Starting with adult makes sense, though! Isn’t it easier to do the adult mesh and then convert to teen afterward? Shrinky shrinky and fix the necks? I oversimplify, I know very little about meshing in reality.
Okay so Mesh Kit.
Mesh kit is not just for YAEM, because I kind of figured I’d put it up on my blog and see if anyone else would find it useful? But it’s massive and sorted… hopefully not too untidly. I threw in–
a) Pretty much every mesh I’ve recolored and liked enough to keep
b) Pretty much every mesh I’m planning to recolor
c) A bunch of meshes other people have recolored plentifully and well
d) Some inter-Sim-nationally useful meshes (Vikish, Japanese, Castaway Stories)
e) A selection of accessories that might clip with expanded necks or shoulders (including some unreleased samples)
and
f) ‘As long as I’m throwing everything in here…’
There’s even a long, rambly document inside, because I’m pretty sure ‘long rambly text’ is my brand.
… Okay you know what while I have the folder open, list of ten non-underwear things I’ve got in my game that I think Heavy Male here would rock (that you haven’t already said you’re doing, like separates and Friar Tuck, that are in that download):
1. Despite it being for women (though I have a morphless male version, too), Cynnix’s Laced-Sleeve gown
2. OFB Armor
3. Sims 2 Store armor
4. Heget’s Perfect Tunics
5. Iamliz13’s Rus Viking
6. Castaway Stories: Dealer’s Choice
7. Happy Holidays Hakama (the BV Yukata is nice but the hakama would look imposing)
8. Yuxi Dragon Valley Elven Armor and/or Faire Folk Sylvan tunic
9. AL ambodywitch. (Do I wish there were a robe under the coat? Yes. Do I think the pointy pointy coat would look great on a big Discworld Wizard Shaped Guy? Very yes)
10. Kalynn’s FR Chausses with Dragon Age boots
Sorry for the late reply. Spoons, you know.
First of all – holy cheese, woman! Now that’s what I call a mesh kit! That’s like… like every medieval mesh known to Simdom. :O How did you manage to put it together so quickly (and super well ordered, too)?! Thank you, this is really going to be super helpful and useful when it comes to my structuring/prioritising things (and I won’t have to hunt down any meshes, either, yay! And I think adding it to your blog as a resource for other bodyshapers sounds like a great idea)! And also for adding outfits I’d overlooked – like the OFB armour, I’d completely forgotten about that! π³ (And I’d somehow missed Cynnix’s soled hosen, too – they’re great! Thanks for bringing them to my atteniton. And they really ought to be part of my hosen & braises upload…)
Glad to hear you think I’m starting from the right direction! π I’m happy to report that Heget’s Perfect Tunics 1 & 2 (and 2.5, because I’ll also be doing a Marvine feet version. I love Marvine’s feet. SF, though… not a fan. At all. But I know other people like them, so I’ll be doing SF versions of all barefoot meshes even if I won’t be using them myself, ever) and also Amaryll’s summery dress (with your clean underwear recols – gimme a shout if there are others you’d like to see as well) will be part of the sleepwear set. Will also do Aligeth’s nightshirt and G-Knee’s no-shoes version of that ancient SimAge’s medieval nightshirt. Iamliz13’s Rus Viking is also high on my to-do list, I really like that mesh (and I think it would look great for Heavy Male, too).
(You’re absolutely right about converting from adults to teens, BTW, especially when we’re talking from AM to TM – then it pretty much is just “shrinky shrinky and fix the necks”. AF to TF might require a little more work, depending on how much hips and boobs you want your teen to have.)
And sorry about the supernaturals, but for some reason I never got into playing those. And I know from past, painful experience that if it’s something I won’t use in my own game and/or have zero interest in in general… it’ll never get done. And nothing else will get done, either, because I’ll have this sense I’m under some kind of obligation to make the Thing I Don’t Like and I’ll feel terribly guilty if I start making something else before I finish it, like I’ve failed some kind of obligatory school assignment or something. (How very Lutheran of me. π ) So, no supernaturals until I’m done with… everything else. Or maybe not – “big Discworld Wizard Shaped Guy” actually sounds like fun, so that might very well happen sooner. No promises, though!
(BTW, if “long rambly text” is your brand, I’d say “ridiculous number of parantheses” is mine. π I do try to control myself when I type my downloads posts, but… fighting the urge is hard.)
