Completers On Demand: Add-ons for the Chiclettina and Club Room counters

I’ll be honest: the “Chiclettina” counter was never one of my favourites. But apparently my downloaders see it differently, because a while back I got not one but two requests for Chiclettina completers. One of them also asked for completers for the Club Room counters. This one was never one of my favourites, either – even less so than the Chiclettina – but what can you do when you have great downloaders and they ask so nicely? So… Chiclettina and Club Room completers it is!

First of all, just so there aren’t any concerns or confusion, all my counters work with drop-in sinks. I know some custom counters don’t, but mine do (as seen in the title pic).

Secondly, since Maxis counters don’t clone properly because of course they don’t, 🙄 these counters are cloned from Numenor’s kitchen counter templates. Both the counters and the wall cabinets are repo’d to the Maxis counters, so they’ll pick up the recols you might have.

With that out of the way – on to the completers!

We’ll start with the Chiclettina. You get seven completer counters for this one. (Please note that the two DoorsDrawers counters are in the same package, as are the DoorsShelves ones, so it’s four counters but only two files – just so you don’t think I’ve missed two files.) As always, click on the image for larger:

Then we have the wall cabinets. Just as with my other completers, they have two variations, wall deco or shelves – they’ll conflict, so choose one. (Also, you can only use the shelf variation if you have the Shelf surfaces sub category in the catalogue.)

And also as with my other completers, the wall cabinets don’t go down with walls, but remain visible. This is by design; even if the cabinets were to go down, the deco you’d put on them wouldn’t – meaning it would look like it was floating mid-air (which looks a bit silly to me). So I’ve chosen to let the cabinets remain visible.

You get ten Chiclettina wall cabinets: four full-length ones, four shorter, and also – drum roll, please – two corner cabinets. Yes, ladies, gentlemen and enbies, you get real corner cabinets this time! 😀 (BTW, they’re shown at a 45 degree angle, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see inside them.)

As I was making these completers, I realised two things. One, this is a really nice counter. And two, the reason I never liked it before? It’s the glass! Seriously, what is it with Maxis and their obsession with blue(ish green) glass?? So, I made a default replacement TXMT for the glass (it can’t be recoloured since counters have two recolourable subsets already), making it look more like the glass from the Castanoga counter (that I like much better). You can see it “in action” already in the above pictures, but this is how it looks in comparison with the Maxis glass:

For your convenience I’ve included it in the download but it’s completely optional – if you prefer the original look, then just delete my default. 🙂

Next, the Club Room counters. You only get three completer counters for this one – I didn’t at all like how the shelf versions came out, so I decided to skip them. (Again, the DoorsDrawers counters are in the same package, so it’s two counters but one file.)

You do get the full complement of wall cabinets, though – including the corner ones:

Just as with my other completers, I’ve made sides to keep the counters/wall cabinets with shelves from getting eaten by the wall if you put them where two walls meet (originally suggested by the wonderful croidure). The Club Room counters get sides, too, even though they don’t have any shelves to worry about – I liked the legs, I didn’t want them to get eaten. 🙂 They look like so:

I’ve also updated the collection files (there’s one for the counters and one for the wall cabinets because if I’d crammed everything into the same collection, by now it would be ginormous), so let them overwrite the old ones (if you have any). I’ve also included the slot blocker from the previous sets, just in case you don’t have it already.

Want more counter completers? My four previous sets can be found here, here, here and here.

  1. Quit my game to download and install these so fast, I got dizzy, lol. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤

  2. I wasn’t real fond of the Chiclettina or Club counters either, but somehow you’ve made them look amazing. Thanks to your magic they’re going to see a lot more use in my game going forward. Incredible work, as always.

Also, I have a confession: I was today years old when I learned that the Chiclettina had glass. All this time I thought it was some weird plasticky panel EA used in their ongoing pursuit of atrocious taste.

    • Sorry for the late reply!

Aww, thank you! Glad you like them! 🙂 Yeah, in the catalogue, before I’ve always just scrolled past these counters without giving them a second glance, so I was quite surprised by how nice they actually look. I think Maxis did them a disservice, the Chiclettina with that awful blue glass (that I admit I also always thought was plastic right up until I started dissecting it in Milkshape it and saw that the subset was called “glass”: “It’s supposed to be what now?!” ) and the Club Room by (almost) only giving it dark recols where you can’t see the details properly. I hadn’t even noticed it had legs before! So I’m grateful to the downloaders who requested them for opening my eyes. 🙂

  3. Hello! Thank you for sharing these!

I’m sorry if this is dumb, but I would just like to confirm, based on this: “Both the counters and the wall cabinets are repo’d to the Maxis counters, so they’ll pick up the recols you might have.”

Is this also applicable for when the counters have default replacements? If I have default replacements of the counters, will your add-ons pick up the colors?

    • Thanks for commenting! Sorry for the late reply; for some inexplicable reason your comment was marked as spam and I didn’t notice it until now.

And it’s not dumb at all! Short answer is yes, my add-ons will pick up the colours of default replacements. But, if the default replacements are mapped wildly differently from the Maxis counters, then the default recols might look displaced/stretched/squished/weird on my counters. But that’s only if the defaults have been remapped, otherwise there’s no problem. Hope that helps (and if it doesn’t, please tell me)!
