TSM Stereo in LACK Colours

TSM Stereo in LACK Colours

Category: Electronics -> Audio
Cost: $750
EPs Required: University or above
Poly Count: Low poly

So, there I was, scrolling through the TSM game files looking for… something I can’t quite remember, but anyway. There I was, happily scrolling through the files – and then I did a double-take, going “was that file called stereo?” Scrolled back up, and sure enough, there was a mesh called “stereoModern”, complete with textures. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Now, I’m reasonably sure they didn’t have stereos in medieval times, so my guess was that this was an object from another game (TS3, perhaps?) that EA had used as a template and then as per EA usual didn’t bother to take out. But I liked the way it looked, and like I said it had textures and everything… so I went ahead and converted it anyway. ๐Ÿ˜›

It requires at least one EP, but it doesn’t matter which one – anything between UNI and AL goes.

To me this stereo looked like it would be really snazzy in the IKEA LACK colours, so that’s what it’s got, in addition to grey, white and (blueish) black:

  1. I’ve seen this converted from ts3 but your tsm version looks much nicer! How you do dat? And the lack recolors really fit the style, you’re right ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you!

    • Thank you for confirming my suspicion that this came from TS3! Glad to know EA didn’t whip up an entirely new object only to find out the middle ages didn’t have stereos. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But maybe they didn’t like how it looked in TS3 and polished it up some before tucking it away? Dunno, I’ve stopped trying to apply common sense to EA. ๐Ÿ˜› Thanks for commenting!

  2. “Iโ€™ve stopped trying to apply common sense to EA.” Wise council for all Simmers. Shastakiss confirms my belief that you only deal with 1st quality items. Very clean lines and IKEA colors suit it perfectly. Thanks, Nix!

    • Aww Nonni, you’re such a sweetie. โค And no matter whether it originally came from TS3 or from the anvil of some deranged medieval blacksmith, I really like how this turned out. It was just screaming to be LACKed. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Its definitely from TS3.. the original is called 85g Audio Explosion from Landgraab Industries from basegame. Your conversion is just gorgeous *-* Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thanks for telling me! Glad you like my conversion. ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe my not having played TS3 is to my advantage here; since I’ve never seen the item in game and thus don’t know how it’s “supposed” to look, I can just play it by ear. No pun intended. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. I like your stereo very much.It has become standard furniture for all my lots.Mostly I use the white/silver color.

    • Gah, I’ve really been sleeping on the watch lately, I completely missed this comment! Sorry!

      Anyway, I’m very happy you like this one, too! I must admit it’s become a favourite of mine as well; if I want a floor stereo for my Sims, this is always the one I use nowadays. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hee! Glad you found it, and glad you like it! ๐Ÿ˜€ If it’s any consolation, this happens to me all the time, too: I’ll think I have just about everything a creator’s ever made – and then I stumble upon this great thing I have no idea how I could ever have missed… and it turns out to be five or six years old, at least. O_o So you’re not alone. ๐Ÿ™‚
