First post of 2022. To quote Forrest Gump, that’s all I have to say about that. 😛
Anyway. A while back, when I was playing the game for once and not just play testing stuff, I came across the PETS “Shapes in Space” sculpture (that I’d quite forgotten existed)… and was a little disappointed it wasn’t a floor lamp. I thought it would have made a perfect lamp for space-minded Sims like the Curious brothers, so… I made it a floor lamp. (I made a floor lamp that looked like the sculpture, I mean. I didn’t turn the actual sculpture into a floor lamp.) And then I made a bigger one, because options. And also two table lamps, so you can have lamps that match.
I give you Lamps… in… Space! (And yes, you’re supposed to read that in a “Pigs in Space” voice 😉 ).
As you may or may not have noticed, lamps are my goto “hi, I’m alive!” item. 😛 What can I say, I like lamps. Making lamps is almost therapeutic to me – and God knows I’ve needed that lately. RL has been… pardon my French, but it’s been f*cking hell (and that’s without throwing corona into the mix). So yeah. Lamps.
Hi. Yes, I live. 😛 And I sim, too, but it’s been at an even slower pace than my usual snail-with-arthritis one. Real Life has been… a lot. And we haven’t even been under lockdown. 😕
Anyway. Since it’s been a while, I thought I’d better put something up to show people that I do, in fact, live. And sim. Rummaging around in my WIP folders I found this cute little tealight holder, based on an IKEA one called SOMMAR (“summer”), that I apparently made already in 2018 but for some reason never uploaded back then. (It might simply have been that I couldn’t get it to look Exactly Like In Real Life; it’s happened before, and more than once, that I’ve scrapped something for that reason.) It was all finished, though, it just needed some recolours and it was good to go, and that was easy enough to fix.
Then I checked the IKEA catalogue to see if they still sell SOMMAR. I couldn’t find it (but you can still see a picture here, that I amazingly had saved for posterity) – but I did find another tealight holder called ÄDELHET (“nobleness”) that looked quite similar. So similar, in fact, that I could make it using the SOMMAR mesh, I just had to tweak it a little. So I did. 🙂
So today I bring you not just one, but two IKEA-inspired tealight holders – functional lights, of course.
Yes, there are lots of other things I’m working on, some that are almost ready for upload, but I just realised it’s been almost a year since I last uploaded something and more than four months since I made a post, so I thought I’d best put something out there lest someone I don’t know from Adam takes it upon themselves to declare that I’ve left the community never to come back or somesuch (this has happened before). 🙄 Besides, sometimes it’s nice to take a break from BHAVs and other complex things and just make something plain and simple, you know? Like recolours. 🙂
Backstory: In early 2017, I made a couple of scented candles – as in, lights with snapdragon effects – loosely inspired by two IKEA ditto, BRÄCKA and SPRALLA (that I don’t think they sell any more). I quite like them and frequently use them in my own game, but I wanted some more, simmish recolours. So today I bring you twenty-two plumbbob and freezer bunny recols for my SPRALLA scented candle, all with patterns from Colourlovers. (Have I told you I love that site? I love that site!)
Since this is a question I’ve been asked a few times, and also something I’ve seen come up on other sites:
None of my animated objects are controlled by NPCs!
Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, animated objects don’t always require an NPC to run; whether they do depends on the type and complexity of the object and not just on whether or not it’s animated. Objects that move around the lot, like Rebecah’s farm animals, usually need an NPC to work, but simple animated objects like mine, that rotate/swing/rock in place, do not.
But if any object of mine did spawn an NPC (which I say again, they do NOT), I promise you it would say so very, very clearly in the upload post. I know there are creators out there who like to foist undisclosed features upon their downloaders, but I’m not that kind of creator.

First of all: I’m NOT on hiatus and I’m NOT inactive! I’m very much active and I am working on stuff, on several stuffs – but a lot of it is pretty complex stuffs, and complex stuff takes time (at least if you care about pesky little things like not crashing people’s games). So I thought I’d best make a lamp to show that I’m, you know, still here, before someone I don’t know from Adam decides to be “helpful” and proclaims that I’ve left the community forevah, or somesuch. 🙄 (Yes, this has actually happened in the past.)
Anyway. The “Still Here” lamp is loosely based on a ceiling lamp that one of my neighbours has in their kitchen. (No, I don’t spy on my neighbours, honest, but the apartment buildings aren’t very far apart where I live.) It come in no less than four different palettes: Anna’s colours, Kiri’s Colour Surge a.k.a. the MLC palette, Poppet’s Lonesome and Shasta’s Yeti palette. All in all, that’s 78 recols, so I’m sure you’ll find something that catches your fancy. 😉
These are my gifts for the 2016 Fishmas Advent Calendar at leefish.nl. I know not everybody frequent that site, so I’m going to share them here as well, now that the creators of the gifts at long last have been revealed over there. 🙂
I actually made four gifts for the Advent calendar, but the fourth one, which was fulfilling a wish, will be in a separate post. (You’ll understand why when you see it.)
You’ll find a download button after each gift, but there will also be one at the very end of the post, in case you want to download all of them in one swoop.

Well, she said, I’m back. 🙂 I hope 2017 has been treating you well thus far; I know 2016 was a rough year for far too many of us. Here’s to hoping this will be better one for all – the only way is up, amirite?
So let’s start the simming year off with an upload that’s bound to lift your spirits – if you’re a Sim, at least. 😉 My first upload of 2017 is two kinds of scented candles, inspired by IKEA’s BRÄCKA and SPRALLA candles. And for Sims, they’re scented for real.

I know, there are invisible lamps out there already (some of them made by me). There are ceiling lamps and wall lamps, and that’s great… but sometimes, you get the best lighting for your picture from a floor lamp. Problem is, when you’re setting up your photo shoot and finally have your Sims where you want them and the light where you want it and the camera where you want it, very often that floor lamp will be in your face (or at least taking up a significant part of the screen).
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like lamps in my face. 😛 So, I’ve made two invisible floor lamps to help with this.

Technically, I’m still on hiatus (even though the end is in sight), but you know how it is. Sometimes you just wanna make a lamp.
I saw a lamp similar to this on a TV show I’m watching, and thought it looked like something my Sims would want. I call it the Pear Lamp, because… well, it’s shaped like a pear. (I know, I come up with some really imaginative names. 😛 ) You get it in the LACK colours, and also in two of my other favourite palettes: Poppet’s Lonesome and Shastakiss’ Yeti palette.
We won’t be getting a white Christmas in this part of the country (but since we had a veritable Fimbulwinter last year, I for one am perfectly fine with that), but that doesn’t mean the weather outside isn’t frightful in my game. Winter is coming and the night is dark and full of turnips; my medievalish Sims obviously need something to help keep them warm, and maybe something to nibble on as well.
So, I took two of the straight fireplaces from TSM – the Phireplace Pharmadasi and the Jacoban Fireplace – and converted them into functional cooking stoves. You need to have at least one EP installed for them to work, but it doesn’t matter which one, it can be anything between UNI and AL.

Well, ’tis the season and so I wanted to make something nice and Christmas-y for my Sims (since they have all been nice this year). To me, nothing says “Christmas” like a Christmas tree – so I made them one. Sort of. I made a Christmas tree lamp. 😀
To add some extra holiday cheer, when it’s turned on this little table lamp spins slowly clockwise and its lights blink discreetly. And yes, of course they are plumbbob lights! 😉

Well, she said, I’m back, and I come bearing conversions. Yes, it is quite possible these have been done before, but I wanted them for my own game and was too lazy to scour the Internet for them, so.
Thus I bring you five of the braziers from The Sims Medieval (plus one bonus crystal ball because I like to play with envcubes), all fired up and ready to go – and I do mean fired up. They all have fire effects.

It’s not easy, being a Sim in Westeros: As if it weren’t enough that winter is coming, the night is dark and full of terrors to boot. To get through, your poor Sims obviously need something that can both keep them warm and keep away those white-faced, blue-eyed things that don’t just go bump in the night. You know, like a good brazier.
